What these tools are

Setpoint Tools provides single-purpose reference calculators and lookup tools across a range of technical and professional fields, among them medical billing, electrical work, payroll, civil procedure deadlines, workplace safety, aviation, construction and ceramics. They are offered free of charge, as a convenience, for planning and educational use.

Every calculation runs in your browser. There is no account, and no service level of any kind is promised: the site may change, move or stop without notice.

Not professional advice

Nothing on this site is legal, medical, coding, billing, engineering, financial, employment or aviation advice, and using it creates no professional relationship of any kind. Specifically, and without limiting the general point:

• A deadline this site computes is arithmetic on published procedural rules. It cannot see your local rules, your judge's standing order or the scheduling order in your case.
• A code or claim check is a formatting and validity screen, not a coding opinion, and it does not decide whether a service is medically necessary, documented or payable.
• An electrical result is a calculation, not a design and not an inspection. The wiring regulations in force where you work govern, and so does the person signing off the job.
• An aircraft figure is a planning number worked from data you entered. The aircraft's own approved flight manual and the pilot in command decide whether it flies.
• A penalty or pay figure is an estimate of how a published table applies. It does not predict what an agency will issue or what a court will hold.

Where a decision matters, take it to someone qualified who can see the actual situation.

The tools and figures on this site are provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied. Figures are transcribed carefully from published sources and those sources are named, but no guarantee is made that they are accurate, current or complete. Published data is revised, and a tool here can be working from a superseded edition.

Published reference values describe controlled conditions. Your equipment, materials, jurisdiction and circumstances differ. Always verify against the current publication from the relevant standards body, agency or manufacturer before relying on a figure for work that matters.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operator of this site is not liable for any loss or damage arising from use of or reliance on anything on this site. That includes, without limitation, a denied or rejected claim, a missed or miscalculated deadline, a penalty or assessment, an underpayment or overpayment of wages, work that fails inspection, damaged materials or equipment, spoiled work, and lost time.

Intellectual property and attribution

The design, code and written explanations on this site are the property of its operator. Reference data remains the property of the bodies that publish it and is presented here with attribution, for reference.

Setpoint Tools is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to any of those bodies. Names, standards and code sets referred to on this site, among them ICD-10, the National Electrical Code, BS 7671 and Orton pyrometric cones, belong to their respective owners and are used only to identify the material a tool works from. Where a standard is not freely licensed, only the physical facts and formulas inside it are used, never its text or its tables.

Acceptable use

Do not attempt to disrupt the site, scrape it at a volume that degrades service for others, or reproduce it wholesale as your own.

Changes

These terms may be updated. The date at the top of this page is when they last changed, and continued use after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
